OUR STORY

The Sidekick Players Club became a society August 19, 1997. Founded by Carroll Lefebvre, the mandate for the club was excellent theatre for the community with the majority of plays written by Canadian playwrights.

The Heritage

Their first production was "The Wind in the Willows" with a cast of 60. Following that was "Waiting for the Parade", their first Canadian production. Both won major awards in BC with the CTC and Theatre BC.

The Community

Sidekick is an all-inclusive club with a dedicated bank of volunteers. Our subscription list of 300 members sells out every season, allowing us to keep theatre affordable and high-quality.

The Mission

Now in our 29th Season, we feature all Canadian plays. We've had the honour of producing first run scripts for Norm Foster, Paul McLaughlin, Carl Cashin, John Muggleton and Rick Chafe.

The Sidekick Experience

Our performance space at the Tsawwassen Arts Centre is small and intimate with a unique set-up of tables and chairs. You can enjoy nibblies and wine from our concession while watching the play—it's been called "dinner theatre without the dinner!"

Every performance has a friendly atmosphere where audience members mingle with one another before the show and during intermission. It's this all-inclusive environment that has built our loyal community.

Sidekick boasts a subscription list of 300. They typically sell out a full year in advance, a testament to our commitment to high standards and affordable community theatre.
